HOTIGOLD adopts the processing method of mechanical polishing. Mechanical polishing is a polishing method in which the surface of the cutting material is plastically deformed to remove the polished convex part to obtain a smooth surface.
Generally, whetstone strips, wool wheels, sandpaper, etc. are used, which are mainly operated by mechanical equipment. For special parts such as the surface of the revolving body, auxiliary tools such as turntables can be used. For those with high surface quality requirements, ultra-fine grinding and polishing methods can be used. Ultra-precision grinding and polishing is to use a special abrasive tool, which is pressed on the surface of the workpiece to be machined in a grinding and polishing liquid containing abrasive, and rotates at a high speed. Using this technology, the surface roughness of Ra0.008μm can be achieved, which is the highest among various polishing methods.

At HOTIGOLD, we carry out various polishing processes using different forms of abrasives according to different grades of stainless steel.
In most cases, the abrasive we use depends on the raw material grade of the stainless steel sheet. Different grades of stainless steel are subjected to different abrasives. If the abrasive is not used properly, the polishing process will not be effective.
In the initial stage, we use a relatively coarse grinding material to eliminate the unevenness of the stainless steel sheet. In subsequent steps, we use a finer abrasive to make the stainless steel sheet as smooth as our budget.
In order to achieve the specified finish, we use polishing wheels and ultra-high-speed polishing machines with corresponding abrasives for the polishing process.
In some cases, we can finish polishing with some polishing materials as originally planned. But in additional cases, we may use various lubricants during the polishing process. In order to maintain the surface of the stainless steel sheet, the glossy brightness specified by the customer can be achieved. We also use environmentally friendly lubricants, so you don’t need to worry about the safety of stainless steel sheets.
If you need more advanced brightness performance on stainless steel sheets, we will use die grinders, stationary polishers or specialized automated equipment for polishing.
When polishing relatively thin stainless steel sheets, we use ultra-fine copper-plated abrasives for the process. Our 8K mirror stainless steel sheet series is one of the products that apply this process.
8K Mirror polishing – This is an ultra-precision finishing process for stainless steel sheet that produces a smooth, flat and low Ra surface finish.
Magnetic grinding and polishing – Magnetic grinding and polishing is the use of magnetic abrasives to form abrasive brushes under the action of a magnetic field to grind stainless steel plates. This method has high processing efficiency, good quality, easy control of processing conditions and good working conditions. With suitable abrasives, the surface roughness can reach Ra0.1μm.
Fluid polishing-fluid polishing relies on high-speed flowing liquid and the abrasive particles carried by it to wash the surface of the workpiece to achieve the purpose of polishing.
Batch processing – This is our self-developed polishing technology for batch processing of stainless steel sheets. The movement of the media and abrasive on the stainless steel sheet imparts the desired surface finish.
