HOTIGOLD only uses Quality Stainless Steel Raw Materials

Select the best raw materials to manufacture the highest quality stainless steel sheet products

cold rolled steel

Cold rolled steel is first produced from large billets cast from hot liquid metal. The billet is then heated, eventually reaching above 1700°F. At this high temperature, it is easy to flatten a long sheet with a set of rollers and then roll it into large rolls. Finally, after the coil has cooled down, a final step of “cold forming” is carried out, re-rolled, and then rolled into sheet, or drawn into bar or tube.

Cold-rolled or cold-formed steel has a smooth, shiny surface with an oily texture and no rust or scale, making it easy to paint or chrome. The final product made with cold rolled steel is more dimensionally accurate, squarer, and has sharper edges, and cold rolled steel can be machined or otherwise manufactured to tighter tolerances than hot rolled steel.

cold rolled steel

In general, cold rolled and cold formed steel costs more than hot rolled steel because of the extra processing steps.

The difference between cold-rolled steel and hot-rolled steel is not in the smelting process, but in the rolling temperature, or the end temperature of the rolling. Cold-rolled steel is when the final rolling temperature is lower than the recrystallization temperature of the steel. Hot-rolled steel is easy to roll and has high rolling efficiency, but under hot-rolled conditions, the steel is oxidized, and the surface of the product is dark gray. Cold-rolled steel requires high rolling mill power and low rolling efficiency, and intermediate annealing is required to eliminate work hardening during the rolling process, so the cost is also high, but cold-rolled steel has a bright surface and good quality, and can be directly used for processing. The finished product, so cold-rolled steel sheet is widely used.

HOTIGOLD’s stainless steel sheet mainly use cold-rolled steel stainless steel raw materials, because cold-rolled steel has better processing performance and better metal properties than hot-rolled steel. For stainless steel sheet, it is more suitable to use cold-rolled steel as the raw material.

Austenitic stainless steel

Austenitic stainless steel refers to stainless steel with austenitic structure at normal temperature. When the steel contains about 18% Cr, 8%~25% Ni, and about 0.1% C, it has a stable austenite structure. Austenitic stainless steel is non-magnetic and has high toughness and plasticity. It is impossible to strengthen it through phase transformation. It can only be strengthened through cold working. If elements such as S, Ca, Se, and Te are added, it has good machinability. The American Iron and Steel Institute is marked with numbers in the 200 and 300 series, such as 201, 304, 316, etc.

Due to its good comprehensive properties and easy machining, austenitic stainless steel has been widely used in all walks of life.

Ferritic stainless steel

The chromium content of ferritic stainless steel is 15%~30%. This kind of steel generally does not contain nickel, and sometimes also contains a small amount of Mo, Ti, Nb and other elements. This kind of steel has a large thermal conductivity, a small expansion coefficient, and oxidation resistance. It has the characteristics of good resistance to stress corrosion, etc., and is mostly used to manufacture parts that are resistant to atmospheric, water vapor, water and oxidative acid corrosion. Ferritic stainless steel is not only relatively low and stable in price, but also has many unique features and advantages, and it has been proven that ferritic stainless steel is an excellent alternative material in many applications where only austenitic stainless steel can be used. . Generally it cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but it can be slightly strengthened by cold working. The American Iron and Steel Institute designates 430 and 446.

SUS 201 Stainless steel

It has acid resistance, alkali resistance and high density. Polished without bubbles, no pinholes and other characteristics. It is a high-quality material for the production of various shells, steel strips and plates. Mainly used in the production of decorative plates, industrial steel pipes and some shallow-drawn products.

Some of HOTIGOLD’s stainless steel sheet products are made of SUS 201 stainless steel. The price is very advantageous, and it is mainly aimed at good usage scenarios, no pollution, and it does not pay much attention to rust and moisture resistance.

SUS 304 Stainless steel

It is one of the most widely used and widely used austenitic stainless steels. It is suitable for the manufacture of deep-drawn parts and acid pipelines, containers, structural parts, various instrument bodies, etc. It can also be used to manufacture non-magnetic, low-temperature equipment and part.

304 stainless steel is also the most used raw material for HOTIGOLD, its performance is better than 201 stainless steel, and the price is moderate and the cost performance is very high. It is also the most customized stainless steel sheet raw material. Especially for kitchen stainless steel sheet products, 304 stainless steel is used the most because it meets food-grade requirements. Of course, 316 stainless steel is better, but the price is slightly more expensive, so 304 stainless steel plate products are the most favored by customers.

SUS 316 Stainless steel

Adding molybdenum on the basis of 10Cr18Ni12 steel makes the steel have good reduction resistance and pitting resistance. In various media such as seawater, the corrosion resistance is better than that of 304 stainless steel, and it is mainly used for pitting corrosion-resistant materials. Moreover, 316 stainless steel has excellent weather resistance and high temperature strength, and can be used normally under severe weather conditions. It is often used in high-end application scenarios such as seawater equipment, food industry, and medical equipment.

Our highest decorative stainless steel sheet is often made of 316 stainless steel, because if customers use this series of stainless steel sheet products, they are often used in some high-end scenarios, so most of them will choose 316 stainless steel.Another very important point is that our HOTIGOLD stainless steel raw materials are all purchased from well-known steel groups, such as Taigang, Baosteel, Posco, etc. The quality of stainless steel is more guaranteed.

SUS 430 Stainless steel

As a representative steel of ferritic stainless steel, 430 stainless steel has low thermal expansion rate, excellent formability and oxidation resistance, and at the same time, has good corrosion resistance. The thermal conductivity is better than that of austenite, and the thermal expansion coefficient is smaller than that of austenite. 430 stainless steel is used for architectural decoration, fuel burner parts, household appliances, and home appliance parts. Due to its safety and non-toxicity, it is also widely used in food tableware.

Our HOTIGOLD stainless steel sheet products can be customized in 430 stainless steel. Of course, the price is slightly more expensive, because 430 stainless steel is very powerful, and its stainless steel plate is unmatched in performance and product life. Excellent comprehensive performance, even in the face of extreme use environments, it can also exert good protective performance, protect walls, protect floors, and protect electrical appliances from damage.
